Patterns of Conflict

Patterns of Conflict is Chris von Csefalvay-Bartal's blog about conflict, war, strategy, unconventional warfare (COIN and 4GW) and all sorts of other stuff loosely related to these fields. Patterns of Conflict was the title of a 1986 briefing by military strategist Col John Boyd. The title was chosen partly as a reflection of the author's preference (obsession?) with Boyd's strategic theory, and partly as an allusion to the fact that the author and Patterns of Conflict are of the same vintage.

Patterns of Conflict does holidays - actually, that’s not true, but I’m in the Netherlands for a couple of days (returning tomorrow morning), and it’s sunny and warm. So the inner Somalian pirate warlord in me thought, let’s see how many ships I could hijack off the shore of Scheveningen in an afternoon… ;)
